How a Textile Wholesaler changed to Theater Equipment Specialists

Gerriets was founded over 60 years ago as a textile wholesaler. Over the years, the core business has changed as we became more focused on theatrical systems and scenery products. A growing team and the installation of a sewing room were the first steps on a long journey to what we are today.
We are in the position to manage the requirements of the Metropolitan Opera as well as the requirements of a small civic center - our products range from simple backdrops to custom hand painted main curtains. The growing specialist knowledge combined to material know-how allows us to grow and to widen our range of goods continuously.

In addition to our corporate headquarters in Umkirch, Germany, Gerriets consists of subsidiaries based in Great Britain, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United States. In 1992 a state-of-the-art production factory was built in Volgelsheim, France (Alsace Region) with specially equipped workshops for sewing, PVC welding, metal work and a paint shop. In Umkirch and Volgelsheim, a staff of 160 people works on the delivery and production of the large range products worldwide.
Our focus is theatrical systems.
