Gerriets reports a growing number of Carbon Fiber Roller Screen systems installations over the last months.
Last summer Gerriets provided 8 TUBE systems for a show in Las Vegas. The systems wind and unwind at speeds up to 2 m /sec (6.5 ft/sec). The TUBE systems are DMX compatible and provide state-of-the-art safety features.
For a company event in Baltimore, Maryland, Gerriets provided, in cooperation with All Staging Unlimited, 7 large Carbon Fiber Roller screen systems. Each screen (11 m x 6 m / 35 ft x 20 ft) moved up and down independently, revealing an array of lights and performers. “We linked all seven of the controllers together via DMX interface and a laptop to allow single button control of all TUBES”, explains Mark Gentry from All Staging Unlimited.
In January, Gerriets installed 2 TUBE systems at a popular night club in Cancun, Mexico. The screens are an integral part of the club’s new live music show. Two more projects were realized this spring: In Atlanta, Georgia, Gerriets provided a new church with a 12 m/40 ft. wide MEGASCREEN system. In Louisville, Kentucky, Gerriets equipped a church with two 16 m /52 ft. wide MEGASCREEN systems. The screens were part of the stage design for the “Southeast Easter Pageant”, a Broadway-style show that attracts up to 75.000 visitors each year. The next upcoming Roller Screen project will be an installation in New York City.
Also in Asia, Gerriets MEGASCREENS are met with interest. This spring Gerriets provided the main curtain, track system and also two 18 x 20 m (59 ft x 65 ft) MEGASCREENS for the Grand National Theatre in Beijing.
Gerriets TUBE and MEGASCREEN are both roller screen systems with Carbon fiber tubes.
TUBE is a portable top roller system for screen sizes up to 1200 x 1000 cm / 39´4" x 32´9" (w x H) with a fast standard roller speed up to 0,9 m/s / 35"/sec. MEGASCREEN TOUR is a mobile bottom roller projection screen system utilizing carbon fiber tubes. It offers quick assembly and disassembly time along with large screen surfaces up to 2400 x 1500 cm / 78´9" x 49´3 " (w x h) and fast roller speeds up to 0,5 m/s / 19"/sec. MEGASCREEN TOUR is perfect for touring applications, special events, concert tours as well as permanent installations. MEGASCREEN TOUR and MEGASCREEN are very similar with regard to technical specifications. The main two differences are maximum width of the system and the diameter of the carbon fiber tubes.
