"The Snow Queen" at the Semperoper – Dresden, Germany

The Semperoper Dresden is one of Europe’s most renowned opera houses and is renowned for opera and ballet productions of the highest artistic standard. For a recent production, Gerriets supplied the highly light-absorbing rear-projection material OPTIBLACK 2.2, which was specifically integrated into the production’s visual and lighting design.

OPTIBLACK 2.2 is a rear-projection film developed specifically for demanding projection applications. Thanks to its high light absorption, it reduces stray light and reflections to a minimum whilst enabling uniform, high-contrast projections. Working in conjunction with the production’s lighting design, the material thus supports precise image control and enhances the atmospheric depth of the stage spaces.
