The fourth installation of Yadegar Asisi’s panoramic work was revealed using Gerriets KABUKI G2 curtain drop system on January 28, 2017 in Leipzig, Germany

Artist Yadegar Asisi takes visitors of the Panometer into a new world with his latest work 3,800 meters below the ocean’s surface to the wreck of the Titanic. Previously Asisi recreated scenes of Mount Everest, Leipzig in the midst of battle in 1813 and the unique underwater world of the Great Barrier Reefs. The Titanic, which perished on its maiden voyage in 1912 is depicted beautifully across a giant 360 degree panoramic image. Using lighting and sound effects, the Titanic is rediscovered by a new generation.

The panorama was installed using Gerriets JOKER 95 track system in 2012. An additional circular track was installed in front of the 111 meter wide panorama picture equipped with 111 KABUKI G2 units. The Gerriets KABUKI G2 drop system allows for a safe simultaneous curtain drop in mere seconds. Three 37 by 35 meter Taffeta curtains were used for the reveal of Asisi’s latest work. Gerriets KABUKI systems have been used in the premiers of all the Asisi panorama reveals in Leipzig.
