Acoustic curtains as homage to "Café Samt & Seide"

Project

The straight and curved acoustic curtains shown in the library of the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration are reminiscent of the world-famous "Café Samt & Seide", which was designed by Lilly Reich and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1927. Sound curtains are used to create flexible and acoustically separated quiet areas:

  • Three 5-layer sound curtain OFFICE drapes with wave optic.
  • Outer layer made from drapery fabric SATIN CS in signal white.
  • Installation of the TRUMPF 95 OFFICE track system on a suspended ceiling of white metal grid elements.
