The Odeon Theater of Herodes Atticus, built in 161 AD into the southern rocky slope of the Acropolis, is one of the oldest and most beautiful open-air theaters in Athens. With nearly 4,500 seats, it was extensively restored in 1950 and is one of the central venues for the annual Athens Festival. Greek as well as international performances take place on the stage. Performances by renowned artists such as ballet dancer Margot Fonteyn, opera diva Maria Callas and singer Liza Minnelli are part of the theater's portfolio.

As part of the Greek Hellenic Festival, the entire dance floor of the theater's open-air stage was equipped with the VARIO 2.0 dance floor by Gerriets for permanent use. The heavy-duty marley dance floor has a matte surface and is suitable for anystyle of dance, even without a reinforcing fleece. Due to its high robustness, the VARIO 2.0 is especially suitable for touring use.
