"The Snow Queen" at the Semperoper - Dresden, Germany

The Semperoper Dresden is one of Europe’s most renowned opera houses and is known for opera and ballet productions of the highest artistic caliber. For a recent production, Gerriets supplied the highly light-absorbing rear-projection material OPTIBLACK 2.2, which was specifically integrated into the production’s visual space and lighting concept.

OPTIBLACK 2.2 is a rear-projection film developed specifically for demanding projections. Thanks to its high light absorption, it reduces stray light and reflections to a minimum while enabling homogeneous, high-contrast projections. In conjunction with the production’s lighting design, the material thus supports precise image control and enhances the atmospheric depth of the stage spaces.
