A New Track System for the Zurich Opera House

Umkirch, 04. December 2015

In 2014 Gerriets technical specialists visited the Zurich Opera House. The stage designer explains his new project.
Actually operas in Zurich are presented in staged productions that range in styles from traditional to modern conceptual designs.
The changing of schedule in short terms requires a modular track system, that supports the rotating repertory.

The stage designer and his crew chose the compact, silent track system Joker 95, adequate for heavyweight curtains and
scenery. Additional parts are required, a track drive double top cord Operation, G-FRAME control drives that can be used as stand-alone.

The test track system succeeded in July 2015. The project was finished just in time - in September 2015 the premiere
of Alban Berg’s opera ‚Wozzek’ was performed – with a smooth and silent production flow in the background.
