Mythology. I don't want to do nothing
A modern adaptation of Jan Parandowski's "Mitologia" was performed by Daria Kubisiak and Weronika Krówka at the Stefan Zeromski Theatre in Kielce. The production is aimed at a young audience: lessons in a school class are transformed into a mythological tale. With humor, live music and lively dialogues, the stories of the gods and heroic legends are brought into the present and open up a fresh approach to the ancient material.
Iga Słupska's scenography relies on strong visual contrasts. Stage recesses create heights reminiscent of Mount Olympus, while the lighting design and hanging fabrics make the descent into the underworld visible. The costumes by Hanka Podraza combine contemporary codes with elements of ancient iconography.
CONTRA H SUPER was used for the stage. The handmade effect material was used as a floor covering and adds a striking visual layer to the design. Thanks to its iridescent surface, CONTRA H SUPER reacts sensitively to lighting moods and movements, allowing the stage space to unfold flexibly between the real playing area and the mythically charged scenery.
