This contemporary opera is the story of a woman in the early 2000s who fights for justice and women's rights. It is based on the life of the Pakistani activist Mukhtar Mai, who was the victim of a horrific crime but managed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The clever production is set on two levels. Downstairs is the domestic life, upstairs are the crimes and confrontations.  The curtain and the staircase serve as transformation elements for the different characters.
