Charlotte Ballet's production of Carmen using VARIO PRO 1.2

At the Knight Theatre in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Charlotte Ballet presented a bold and visually striking interpretation of Carmen in May 2025. Set against the glamorous backdrop of 1970s Las Vegas, this modern production of Georges Bizet’s famous story reimagined Carmen as a strong and independent woman navigating a world of illusion, desire and danger.

Choreographed with sharp modern lines and emotionally charged movement, the production required a dance surface that could meet the demands of both technical precision and visual elegance.

Charlotte Ballet relied on a red VARIO PRO dance floor for this production, a trusted solution for professional dance performances. The striking red color enhanced the visual impact of the set design, reflecting the passion and danger at the heart of Carmen, while the floor’s high-performance and multi-layer construction offered exceptional support and safety for the dancers.
