Gerriets’ new ULTRABRITE Projection Fabric debuted at this year’s United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) conference in St. Louis
The seamless 140’ wide by 13’ high projection surface wowed attendees at the entrance to the expo hall. Wladimiro A. Woyno R., a Yale University Graduate Student, designed the projections with vibrant textures reminiscent of circuit boards and animations evoking Broadway hits. These were expertly mapped across seven projectors over the 140’ wide fabric.
ULTRABRITE’s standard 16’-5” width and 164’ bolt length allows for a seamless viewing experience without compromising quality, brightness or your wallet. The fabric’s tight weave and slight sheen that yields crisp image clarity across a wide viewing cone that is often not found in projection fabrics. It is the perfect front projection surface for close up viewing of large seamless expanses and is cost effective; It even has rear projection capabilities for large light washes. The fabrics stability makes it easy to handle and allows wrinkles to fall out with ease once hung and stretched. The fabric can be cut onsite and effortlessly stretched with Gerriets EASYFIX fabric fasteners, without the need of webbing and grommets. Available as raw material or custom sewn to size, ULTRABRITE is flame-retardant to NFPA 701 standards as well as other European standards. It is now in stock and ships folded or rolled from our Ewing, NJ warehouse.
